I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Good Counsel. We have a rising 9th grade boy that has toured or is applying to all of these mentioned schools. As far as facilities, we like in order (not by our choice order)
Prep (not applying)
SJC (top 3 choice)
Good Counsel
Landon
Bullis
Sidwell (top 3 choice)
Potomac (not applying)
St Albans (not applying)
Maret (top 3 choice even though worst facilities although new athletic fields coming 2023 I think)
DS is a top ranked athlete that will likely play D1. We figure he can get fancy facilities in college.
Kind of weird seeing D1 athlete applying to St. John’s also applying to programs like Sidwell and Maret.
Not weird at all. These schools consistently send kids to D1 in sports and they have strong academics. Why not have best of both worlds.
I’d like to see a list of D1 athletes recruited from Maret and Sidwell.
Why do you care? If you have a kid that is D1 potential, you’d know the answer already. I’m not sure what you’re getting at with your line of questioning. Weird.
Anonymous wrote:Geesh- Maret’s facilitates are tiny! Depending on grade- Norwood has great facilities for MS (5-8). Sidwell and Potomac School have great facilities. Bullis can’t be best if facilities is your focus.

Sidwell is about to be part of a strip mall. GDS has gotten nicer in recent years. Really, you can’t go wrong as long as you stay away from Sidwell.
Maret? Best…facilities???
Prep probably has the nicest athletic facilities overall. Golf course. Pool. Indoor tennis. New football “stadium”.
After that, it’s a toss up between Landon and SJC. SJC has the better built facilities like basketball gym and football stadium. But Landon has the best maintained grass fields in the area for baseball, soccer and lacrosse. Landon’s grounds crew is country club level.
I’m not sure why people mention Bullis. Sure it’s a big campus but their facilities are kind of mediocre.
This.
GP has the best facility overall in the DMV
Prep is not a middle school. Also I wouldn’t exactly be bragging about that new field they put it next to 355. The golf course is a nice touch though.
That field, next to Rockville Pike, is NOT the new football field/stadium. That's a soccer field and track. The new stadium is located at the back of the property, behind the new building.
Does Saint Albans have a golf course?

Then why are you playing football on it this year?
