Can anyone speak to St. Anselm’s campus / academic facilities? Sports is not a real concern for our family. More interested in hearing thoughts on STEM and arts. Thanks.

Why do you care? If you have a kid that is D1 potential, you’d know the answer already. I’m not sure what you’re getting at with your line of questioning. Weird.

Your defensiveness belies the fact that neither of your schools do very well with athletics. Which is fine.

No way! Have you seen where MS kids have to squish and sit on the floor for chapel every morning only for it to be turned into a packed cafeteria in the middle of the day and then athletics/club space after school? They don’t even have an auditorium or properly fine arts classrooms in the MS!

Best are potomac, Norwood, SJC, gtown prep. All have lots of land, ample facilities, great upkeep.

Landon is expansive but older. Same for Holton. Have swimming pools.

Sfs and gds are modern, urban and cramped. Same for visi and Gonzaga.

Cathedral schools are great, not super expansive but lots of space for urban, and every one needs their swimming pools.

I’m not sure why I even know this but off the top of my head there’s Luke Garza in the NBA and Miles Brown in the NFL.

After that, it’s a toss up between Landon and SJC. SJC has the better built facilities like basketball gym and football stadium. But Landon has the best maintained grass fields in the area for baseball, soccer and lacrosse. Landon’s grounds crew is country club level.

I’m not sure why people mention Bullis. Sure it’s a big campus but their facilities are kind of mediocre.

That field, next to Rockville Pike, is NOT the new football field/stadium. That's a soccer field and track. The new stadium is located at the back of the property, behind the new building.

Does Saint Albans have a golf course?


STA is in DC. How on earth would they have a golf course?

OP, if would help a lot if you specified your geographic limitations. A family with easy access to Prep (which, at the HS level, does have the best facilities) would not be the same family with easy access to Potomac. Some families are only looking in the district. Some are only even looking in a small area of the district. Can you narrow this down?

Because the new football field complex is still under construction. It will be ready for the Fall 2022 season.

This. Not to mention the new performing arts center and auditorium. The new athletic center and the performing arts center are just two of the new developments occurred at SJC with a lot more on the horizon.

Good counsel has a decent football field and other than that everything else is really public school level. Although the academic building is nice.

*forgot Gonzaga would probably be right above Maret
