Me too. Reading these doesn't make me wish I changed our tradition. I have no desire to buy more junk to fill my own stocking or my husbands or stress about who will fill mine. Just one less thing to do and worry about. See also the people complaining their in-laws don't fill stocking for them. What is the point?

Only kids get stockings stuffed and Santa does it. Santa does bring stuff for adults

Santa got the credit when the kids were little, but in actuality my husband does 90% of the stuffing. He likes to pick up odd snacks and candy from a little German store near his workplace. He buys a few for his own stocking, but I usually add a surprise or two.

I do one for everyone and mine too. Just before Christmas, I wander through a store I like (bookstore, etc.) and pick up several knickknacks that I find interesting but would not usually want to waste money on and toss them into my stocking. Sometimes that kids are more interested in what is in my stocking than their own though they like theirs.

I was thinking about this thread when I was driving around this weekend getting choked up in the car thinking "who is going to buy me scratchers for xmas easter when my dad dies??" THe easter bunny brought scratchers in my house growing up and I still get one in my card.

Stockings are the best part of Christmas for our kids. They’re teens, but we stuff them with silly things plus scratch offs!

Lucky kids! Debating varying ideas about Santa is one of best parts of Christmas. Plus two stockings? It's nice to be so loved.

What to do? Clearly the solution is to stuff a stocking for MIL, and get some videos of those cute arguments.

This bothered me when my kids were little and looking back, I’m not sure why I cared so much. We saw my parents and MIL on Christmas Day. My parents would stuff stockings for the kids, MIL would have stocking for all of us, Santa would stuff stockings for all of us at our house. The kids got three and DH and I got two. It was some territorial new mom thing that I got angry and stressed over this. We stopped traveling years ago for Christmas but MIL mails us through stocking stuffers for the entire family still, minus the stockings. It’s mostly food. I enjoy getting mine! The kids are teens now.
