Yes. The losses hurt but for some reason the players and parents are way happier and the last club. Culture is great especially how the girls support each other. Prior club girls did support each other but with an undertone of cutthroat performance. Here it feels genuine. YMMV


not sure why I remember this but they use to have a 2009 that was very fast. Our team played BRYC and I remember her from a tournament and was impressed with the speed and the amount of time at that speed. Sometimes girls don't keep that speed as they get older.

Agreed. This is at the younger ages before ecnl starts but could very well be the reason the current ecnl teams are underperforming. I heard that the 2009 team went from being very good at u9 and u10 to barely having enough players by u12


and most of those girls from the u9/u10 years are on other ECNL teams and are top performers.

The PP didn’t say the club, PP said the players could move if they wanted to play ECNL.

The reality is, players will trickle from FCV to ECNL clubs at the younger age groups moving forward and for the pre U13 ages players will simply not bother going to FCV. Those younger “lost” players will stay at VDA, Loudoun, McLean and even BRYC.

The younger FCV teams will fail to make top brackets at Jeff Cup type tournaments and GA will bleed top college interest in comparison to ECNL events.

GA is a weak, unproven league and the only reason players stay at FCV is for the Cult of Bobby. If BP leaves FCV the players will too.


BP is the problem. FCV was a top club (ECNL and GA) before BP. The club, the training, the reputation has gone downhill.

How it works: a kid leaves a non ecnl club and joins an ecnl club because they want to.

Precisely--any single player or gaggle of players/parents could leave and try out for any ECNL team in the area, specifically the ones that seem to struggle to get wins if they think that is their best chance to play in ECNL. If there are enough of them, and they are better than the existing pool that are getting rostered for ECNL, then they'll take those spots.
