You are saying that every player on BSC’s MLNext teams in the older age groups was allowed to play for their public HS as well? I find that extremely difficult to believe. Of course you are able to if you are on a blue or green team. There is no club or league rule against it.

Regardless, any club will do what it takes to make a Kristian level-player happy. It looks great for Bethesda to be able to list him as an alum.

^^There’s an easy way around that, which is you are only rostered to the MLSNext team for the season you don’t play HS. This is a flexibility typically only granted to very top players.

Lots of kids prefer to stay with BSC for DA/MLSNext as BSC is not only more convenient, but also more stable and often has better teams than DCUnited. Sounds like BSC was willing to accommodate his desire to play for Landon in the Fall as well. Worked out well for him!

No boggy. If you have a sports scholarship to private school BSC always accommodates. They just don’t like it if top players play for their public school.

Considering their Academy, Blue and Green teams at the U15-U19 levels are typically filled with players who play public high school soccer and either win HS state championships or are Washington Post All-Met HS teams, this isn’t remotely true. Also, many of the BSC coaches Coach public HS soccer…so yeah.

Can we keep the axe grinding to a minimum? This thread is about a kid who potentially earned a chance to play at one of the top clubs in the world. For once it would be nice to keep things positive rather than turning it into another 100999 pages of personal beef.

I thought if you played MLSNext it was MLSNext's policy that you couldn't also play for school unless you have a scholarship.
