The only reasonable source is Bethesda Beat. Otherwise you’ve got WTOP and WaPo. Your neighborhood listserv is also important.
MoCo Show.
And Montgomery Community Media, which is the government, but it does a good job just reporting facts without all the commentary.

LOL. One is literally state media and the other is what I will nicely call “opinion journalism”.

It’s honestly funny. I love schadenfreude and Riemer and Anderson deserve it.
Albornoz said he's going to hold hearings and markups on Thrive into the New Year. That's really going to mess up Anderson's plans to run, because he'll have to choose between finishing Thrive and running. No way he can without developer money, which he would have to raise fast to be competitive, and he can't take developer money and run planning at the same time.

Trying to under who this pro-Hucker constituency is will be interesting.
Is this the pro-Reimer constituency talking? I simply think, relatively speaking, Hucker is more competent than Elrich and less sleazy than Reimer. It’s a pretty low bar to clear when you think about it, none of them are that great. As of now Blair would get my vote.
Why?

You got Jawando who hates police and thinks everyone is out to get him. Riemer and Hucker whose opinions change based on whatever will get them elected. Navarro who's just not that bright. Katz is OK (the only actual businessperson on the Council) but doesnt' seem to stand up for the people much. Albornoz is a ladder-climber but also a yes-man.
Friedson does stuff like question why the county needs to pass toothless resolutions on international affairs for example. (Leave that for Congress please).
I will say that, IME, Hucker is typically very responsive to constituent concerns (I’m in his district). I may not agree with him in everything but I feel like he does listen to people. He’s not eligible for another term though, right?
He is, but he's running for County Executive.
LOL. Guess someone doesn’t feel very confident that he can win in a district without TP votes and probably also knows better than anyone how weak Riemer is.
These people can’t help themselves. I was hoping fewer candidates would throw their hat in the ring this time so that we had a chance of getting rid of Elrich but they’re all going to split the vote again aren’t they. I’d actually prefer Hucker over Reimer/Elrich but don’t think he’d win, I think he’s more likely siphon off votes from Blair.
