Albornoz said he's going to hold hearings and markups on Thrive into the New Year. That's really going to mess up Anderson's plans to run, because he'll have to choose between finishing Thrive and running. No way he can without developer money, which he would have to raise fast to be competitive, and he can't take developer money and run planning at the same time.

DP but it’s true that Hucker is more competent than Elrich and less sleazy than Riemer. It’s also true that Blair would be a better executive because he would be less beholden to the agenda of the council. Having a CE that leads the agenda is critical. The council is incapable of leading.

He is, but he's running for County Executive.
LOL. Guess someone doesn’t feel very confident that he can win in a district without TP votes and probably also knows better than anyone how weak Riemer is.
These people can’t help themselves. I was hoping fewer candidates would throw their hat in the ring this time so that we had a chance of getting rid of Elrich but they’re all going to split the vote again aren’t they. I’d actually prefer Hucker over Reimer/Elrich but don’t think he’d win, I think he’s more likely siphon off votes from Blair.
He’s clearly taking votes from Riemer. He’ll probably even centerpiece his campaign in how he delivered Thrive, which was DOA out of committee by Riemer, through his adept skills or whatever as council president.
Running on Thrive is a sure loser countywide. But for the people who care about this crap, he’s probably going to present himself as offering a “mature” choice to Riemer.
It’s honestly funny. I love schadenfreude and Riemer and Anderson deserve it.
