The same one in which Haverford is (an earlier poster suggested that one...)...there really are a bunch of folks that have a very skewed view of what safeties are. These schools are not safeties for anyone, regardless of scores/grades. I know two kids from W schools with great grades and over 1500 SAT to get rejected from Haverford last year...I'm guessing the same is true for BU, Tufts, and NE....

The train is right at the foot of Brandeis campus and really easy to get to Cambridge and Boston.

No way is Tufts a safety. Northeastern isn’t anymore either. BU isn’t even a clear safety, though it is more likely than the other two.

Just listing relatively urban schools is not helping on the "safety" part of the equation. Tulane, Case and W&M are not safeties. If one applies ED or ED2, with those stats, there is a good shot.


I think those are reasonable safeties for that profile from a Big 3. Also, this profile has a very good shot at Chicago with an ED application.

Marist’s campus is pretty isolated - I would not recommend it for someone looking for city schools or lively college towns

Safeties for my DS who had a similar profile from Big 3 last year:
Indiana (rolling) - once in here, took off other more "safety" like schools
Babson
Case Western

Got into all, so they were sold safeties/matches.

Be sure to "show interest" via interview, virtual sessions, virtual tours.
