Two categories of people respond to these threads: parents of teenage athletes (who will suggest one whole pizza per person) and dieting middle aged women (who think 1 slice and a scoop of salad is plenty).

I’d go with 5 minimum.

Just saying that everyone is making fun of me - but my two slices per per person and then rounding up to the full pie - is 5 pizzas here LOL.

No..you are recommending 26 slices. 8 slices per pie. just over 3 pies.

Oh HA! OK - so I am recommending 4 - thanks for correcting my math.

But anyway I am not annoyed or anything - you're just making me feel like that one poster who said 1 piece per person. Does anyone remember that? It was years ago I think.

Yes. You filled up on green beans so anything more than 1 slice would be too much.

Thanks, I specifically read this whole thread to see if green bean lady would be back. That was a fabulous thread....

These posts crack me up. Hosts who do not eat a lot still need to focus on how much their guests will eat- not on what they feel is morally superior. Pizza is the one food where people, even thin healthy-eating folks, tend to indulge. I remember watching kids who usually barely eat anything fight over a third slice at a swim party. It’s always a good idea to over order a bit OP, unless you truly know your guests eating habits. Especially if you are getting different types of toppings. If you have lots of leftovers, send some home with your guests.

I also agree that the number of pizzas depends on what other food you have. Wings would definetly reduce the amount of pizza needed.

Wow. My teen son (athlete) rarely has a second slice.

This does not seem possible if he actually likes pizza and isn't dieting.

Why?

Unless you have never been around people other than your son, or people eating pizza other than your son, you know why.

Yes yes they do.

Honestly, that's pretty gross.

He does not like pizza or is a gymnast.. You have to know 1 slice of pizza is more like a snack for most teens.

One slice of pizza for a teenaged male athlete is way outside the norm.

Maybe, but its not like its the only thing he's eating. Swimmer, by the way.

No one is trying to convince your son to eat more pizza. He’s fine the way he is. However, his pizza eating habits are atypical, and therefore should not be used to estimate how much pizza OP should order for a group.
