You don’t need to believe me. I’m not trying to convince you. In fact, don’t believe me to your hearts content. Doesn’t effect my life one bit.

However, let me tell you something most people don’t learn growing up in their bubble wrapped echo chamber in the DMV.

There are many people who double their pay by working lots of overtime. There are plenty of blue collar people making 150,000 - 200,000 based on their effort and desire to have more. That money comes from consistently working 12-16 hour days. It comes from sacrifice.

There are plumbers making as much as lawyers. Only difference is the plumber has to work twice as much to earn the same income.

There are lots of ways to get money….if you’re willing to sacrifice.

Some people are cut from a different cloth.

Agree. I pay for my kid as do all the players on the team. There are talented players not in the league because of the costs. Oh well. It is kid soccer so whatever. No one is deprived because they can't play deluxe youth sports.

They are for that best players that can afford to pay the fees and pay for all the travel. Good youth leagues but they are running a business so there are many limitations.

Tell us Mr. Problem Solver - where else is the money going to come from? We’ll wait for the make believe response that’s surly to come

Poster did not say anything was a problem. The question being answered was "are the leagues elite?". IMO, if the team is funded, as is the case for some teams on boy's side, they can claim to be elite.

If they are pay to play like most boys and all girls...it is what it is...a biz. There is nothing being with a biz but don't pretend it is like the funded boys side.

Let’s come back reality. Nothing is free. Say that 10x over. You think fully funded boys programs are not a business? Lazy thinking. Dig deeper and stop “reading the headlines”

blah blah blah. Soccer on the girls side is for the athletes that can afford it. Many of whom are great players but it is what it is. Argue all you want but you cant change reality.

1. “Blah blah blah” is not a rebuttal.
2. “Soccer on the girls side is for those that can afford it.” Correction - Soccer on the girls side is for TALENTED players whose parents make financial sacrifices. It’s called “adulting”

100%

Lol. Don’t try to equate your “financial sacrifices” with those where a financial sacrifice is equivalent to giving up a basic necessity and would not even be an option. And get off your high horses. It’s not “adulting,” it’s a “privilege”— the privilege to even have the choice and options to make financial sacrifices.

I offered my child opportunities based on my sacrifices. I am a burden to no one. I work 16 hours a day - not 8 - to prosper - not to survive.
Equal opportunity doesn’t mean equal outcomes. You have the same “privilege” as me. You choose what to do with your life. Not my concern

Based on the responses to this thread, either a) nothing is happening or b) no one here knows anything.

Rumor has it the McLean is in discussions to have its C teams play in GA, since GA is a step up from NCSL but not quite EDP/CCL.

On a serious note, the PP who referenced teams that win national titles is spot on. PDA, Solar, Eclipse, Michigan Hawks, Etc., are known for producing winning to teams and college coaches know that recruiting for those teams means that they are getting talented kids who know how win. As such, those teams attract more talent. McLean, FCV, MUFC, Bethesda have a tradition for producing such talent but those teams are slipping because there are so many options. If you are the 12th person on the depth chart at McLean, why stay when you could start at Loudoun or Arlington. Historically, that girl would have stayed but does not need to do so today.
