Op here. I’ve followed them for years and over the past two years there has definitely been a shift from DIY and affordable buys to more outlandish and expensive purchases coupled with projects that are way out of the average person’s budget. Having said that…as I expressed in my OP, it’s fun to watch this all come together AND even though I don’t have 200k, I probably barely have a 1/4 of that for my kitchen Reno, it’s inspiring to see. I don’t follow them religiously like I used to for all of the aforementioned reasons, however it’s been giving me something to look forward to while dealing with the pandemic. If you have any other designers that you could share, I would love to check them out.

Op here. Having used marble countertops in my last smaller kitchen. I absolutely agree. I wish she had gone with a quartzite rather than marble and a honed black granite instead of the soapstone. Both are a nightmare and overtime they will not look good. I cook a lot like Chris. I would never do marble again in my kitchen regardless of it’s beauty!

Changing out the countertops was a good move. I think a lot of people think that the backsplash being marble is going to be ugly with the soapstone countertops. A but mismatched. I thought the same, but after looking at Jean Stoffer’s work it appears she has done the same in a few of her other kitchens. I don’t love it, but it isn’t horrible at all.

Op here. Lol. Totally not a fan girl. 😊 I am currently in the process of designing my own kitchen so I am excited to see how their kitchen comes together. In the Op I also asked for recommendations to other designers or bloggers who are currently undergoing a more classic style kitchen because I’m very interested in seeing a remodel and design play out in real time. I hope that clears it up for everyone who think I’m the bloggers themselves.

I’m excited, OP! I don’t follow them but I’m obsessed with Jean Stoffer so I’m really looking forward to how the kitchen looks.
