We need to find a space for healthy rivalries without violence. This isn’t just from because of the football game though - also residue from the hockey game fight a few years ago that got both teams temporarily banned from Cabin John.

Shouldn't the questions be where are the parents and their leadership.
What do you mean, where are the parents? Do you expect parents to chaperone high school students at all time?
No but they should be teaching them that fighting after football games is stupid, useless, and dangerous. It only takes one kid to kid knocked out and hit his head on the curb and poof your life is over.
Kids have been fighting after(and before) football games since the 1940’s. In the 1950’s a BCC vs Blair was postponed until a. Weekday afternoon because of weekend fighting, vandalism’s, and hit and run attacks on each school. It’s something that will go on forever.
There were not issues with guns then. I think violence should be treated a bit differently now.

My thought is that if those parents had been parenting those full 18 years those kids wouldn’t be doing violent, dangerous or disrespectful things at age 18.
All these years on DCUM (horrifying), and I still don't know what posters mean when they talk about parents parenting (or not parenting).
Definition of parenting
1 : the raising of a child by its parents
2 : the act or process of becoming a parent
3 : the taking care of someone in the manner of a parent
Of course here on DCUM it means I'm judging you for not being the wonderful parent I am.
Bingo.

Yeah, but how about also promoting a more academic environment and less jock culture in high school? Most of the violence directly stems from this type of sports culture mentality. You never see this happening after a non-sports event.
These are huge rah rah sports schools.
