I wouldn't pay $70,000 a year in property taxes if I could avoid it either.

And this is the race to the bottom. People like you are what's wrong with this country.

1. CRT is not being taught, never has been.
2. He has zero role over curriculum, let alone books, despite his saying that he does. He doesn't. Everyone knows that.
3. Parents are not expected to write curriculum. Nor are they able to ban books.
4. He ran on this false gasoline to entice the right wing crowd. Why, after all the progress Virginia made, would women vote this opportunist in?

All of this. All these idiot suburban moms who voted for him are going to be very surprised. Dumba$$e$.

And he wants to cut taxes while increasing spending?! And he likes banning books. And id he doesn’t veto far right bills from the House (like the transvaginal ultrasound bill the GA passed last time the Rs had control), we will lose our business-friendly environment.

This is at the core.
He really did run a brilliant campaign, but it's the same campaign that all GOP's do... scare the ever loving life out of our constituents, SSI they think their precious way of life is under assault.

CRT was NEVER going to be an issue in public schools because it's only offered in college, but he terrified parents with CRT, and they fell for it.

He won't be fulfilling 90% of what he promised because he's going to play it so safe.

So don't worry Virginians, your marijuana, abortion, oh and schools free of all CRT are safe. 👍🏻

Perfect example of a Literal.

Liberal: person who knows what words mean and how to use them. Also, responsible for mind reading when non-liberals insist on saying CRT but don’t really mean CRT and can’t really say what they mean.

Again: "Defund the Police" says hold my beer. "Oh, we didn't LITERALLY mean Defund the Police!" I'll humor you - even though this has been defined over and over for you. Let me walk you through this. Again.

Definition:
CRT: critical race theory (CRT), intellectual and social movement and loosely organized framework of legal analysis based on the premise that race is not a natural, biologically grounded feature of physically distinct subgroups of human beings but a socially constructed (culturally invented) category that is used to oppress and exploit people of colour. Critical race theorists hold that racism is inherent in the law and legal institutions of the United States insofar as they function to create and maintain social, economic, and political inequalities between whites and nonwhites, especially African Americans.

FCPS announcing its contract with The Leadership Academy to provide "Anti-Bias" training for FCPS teachers:

One key strategy to achieve educational equity is to analyze and address the beliefs and policies that inform teaching practices along with what is taught in schools. FCPS will begin by revising the existing Controversial Issues Policy and developing a new Anti-Racism, Anti-Bias Education Curriculum Policy.

We believe that hearing from all stakeholders (students, families, educators, and community) and collecting their input will support more inclusive and equitable curriculum policies. We are working with The Leadership Academy to support the revision and development of the two curriculum policies.
https://www.fcps.edu/node/43411

What that training entails:

To consistently provide each student access to the learning opportunities they need to excel, schools need strong culturally responsive leaders. We define culturally responsive leadership as being able to recognize how institutionalized racism affects your own life and the lives of the students and families you work with, and embracing your role in mitigating, disrupting and dismantling systemic oppression.

We offer research-based hands-on, job-embedded learning experiences and deep group instruction to maximize development, and guide leaders through hard conversations on race and bias, developing their ability to lead their own staff in the work required to disrupt systemic inequities. A strategic approach is essential for making authentic and sustainable growth and change. We help leaders and their teams conduct equity-informed assessments of systems, policies, and practices, and use those findings to prioritize needs and develop and implement longer-term strategies.

Based on the needs of your individual team members, we design learning experiences that can build your team’s capacity to answer questions like:

What does an equitable classroom, school and system look and sound like and how am I pushing to make sure it comes to fruition?
How am I daily showing those I work with that I am committed to equitable outcomes for all students particularly minoritized students?
Are the students I am responsible for experiencing standards-aligned, culturally-relevant instruction on a daily basis?
Am I building the capacity of those around me to also be culturally responsive instructional leaders?
How will the decision I just made impact the students, families and communities that I am serving?
What personal biases am I holding that may be getting in the way from me being able to be a culturally responsive leader?
What policies, structures, biases and practices do I need to dismantle in order to provide a more equitable experience for students?

How am I ensuring families and communities are key collaborators in improving the school experience for all students?

You are opposed to anti-bias training for educators? Wow. Most workplace environments have this type of training through HR.

And have for many years - 15+?

Nope. Not excited. But I’m also hopeful that the left can be motivated to start passing popular policy again and maybe this is the kick in the a$$ that’s needed to move things along.

I am not lying about this. The person I spoke with is in the PE world and their kids were on several sports teams together. The complaints were that He is arrogant and has no concept of how government really works.

Oooh, tell us more fiction! Wait, let me get some hot chocolate and popcorn.

Even if PP is a troll. is it really that inconceivable? Look at how the dude made his money. Is it that far fetched that he stepped on a lot of toes and angered people? I mean quite a few folks probably lost their jobs so he could make a profit.
You really think he is an outstanding, sweet, upstanding, Christian white knight coming to save you from the "leftists"? You might not believe some random internet stranger but you are still pretty gullible. Enjoy the hot chocolate and popcorn.

Probably Youngkins kids were better athletes than salty person PP spoke with. And I'm sure they spent so much time talking about government a decade ago when the kids were young. Try harder, PP.

Good athletes but don't know the voting age is 18

If you are promising to “rebuild schools” you should. But he is an ahole. So there you go.

Why? His kids didn't go to those schools. You use the schools, you pay for them. He's giving $3,000 a year which is the average most homeowners in the area are paying.

Also the annual budget for FCPS is $3 billion. So exactly what is wrong with your schools that they can't function with a budget bigger than a country's GDP?

Because FCPS is a welfare and pension program that also happens to run some schools. Metro is the same. A pension program with some buses. The latest FCPS school bond said it was going to be used for debt service. So borrowing money to pay interest on other debts. That's a good plan. How long can you do that?

FCPS has a sh1t to of kids. How does the budget compare to other XL school systems? What is per pupil spending?

Go look at the places with good schools - the per pupil spending is even higher. You want good schools? Put your money where your mouth is.

FCPS is way too massive - split it up.
