I entirely dispute that short hair is more professional. That seems like something a very old person would say. Now long hair is back in fashion, and even though it's been co-opted by the MAGA gang, it goes far beyond it. Many women all around the world, and not in any way associated with US politics, are sporting long hair.
I am glad. The short hair look doesn't flatter every face. We should be allowed to wear our hair however we like.
Unless you have very weird beliefs about how employers shouldn't care about dress or grooming, you don't actually believe that.
They don't care about the length of your hair.
