Didn't read whole thread.

I am NOT a morning person.

I am happy to discuss helping more in the morning but please discuss it with me at night. Not in the actual morning when I'm not at my best!

Oh Dad. Oh... Daaaad. I hope for your wife's sake you are not this stupid in real life. Talk to your kid's dentist. Hoping that you have taken your child to a dentist...

You do realize that if cavities get bad enough they reach the nerve of the tooth, cause excruciating pain, and require a root canal to fix? Also, there can be bone damage.

+1. I would suddenly have a very important early morning meeting that I would leave the house for very early. He won’t have any other choice but to step up.

This. Our 3 year old brushes their own teeth. Make everything own their sh*t

Our dentist discourages this as other PPs mentioned - the back molars are prone to cavities. We are supposed to let them brush and then go back through and do the molars again. You may not be at that stage yet with a 3 year old, but more teeth can mean more surfaces to clean.

Some parents prefer cavities over having to constantly supervise brushing. Stop telling others how to invest their time and money.

Letting your child get cavities because of neglect is objectively a parenting fail. Brush your kids’ teeth and let them be independent in another way.

Yeah, my lazy in laws stopped brushing their kids teeth when they are two and my niece had extensive decay and cavities and had to go under anesthesia
