People with cock affixes change their names all the time. OP and her kids have to live with the address. Let them decide what they like. I remember going to school with a Lauren Dickerson. She changed her last name in high school. Another guy I knew had the last name, Dick. He changed his name as well.

I’ve lived in that neighborhood for six years now and I still get confused!
Too bad you didn’t buy here, though, because it’s a great neighborhood!

I like the suggestion of using “Hancook” with the parents! I still think this is a dumb complaint, though.
