We had that same agreement. I was the one adamantly not wanting to be a sahm. However, life is weird sometimes. Our children ended up with some SN that needed much more parental time and for a longer period. So, I ended up being that sahp. It was a hard adjustment that took several years before I got the cadence right. Turns out I was more a pragmatist than an idealist.
