Imagine if you will.

The cognitive dissonance is hard with the folks at sycolin Rd. Making excuses on a Sunday at 4 AM. Gives you insight into how inured and hopelessly servant-minded these parents and employees are.

Loudoun making an assistant ref cry during a match, abusing him. Not necessary

Of course this might depend on the coach, but my kids coach will sit the kid if the parent goes overboard. He used to say, if I pull your kid out and he is sitting right next to me - then I'm really doing it because of you.

Where are you that peope are going so overboard? I have not heard this from any parents on our team. People will say things like,
"that was a handball!" or "he was offsides!" I can't imagine any coach benching a kid over a parent's comments like that.

We have rules to kick out parents. and if a parent goes, so does the coach.

Bad rules. Some refs are so full of themselves that they want to be the star of the show. I have seen refs kick out parents and coaches for really minor things. Of course, sometimes ejections are warranted, but I have only seen a handful of times when parents or coaches misbehaved in a way that ejecting them was appropriate. The best refs you don't even notice when they officiate.

I have only seen a couple of matches where the ref ejected a parent or coach. I have been to many more where parent ejections should have been made due to harassing and yelling profanities at the ref. What refs are silently controlling the sidelines?

Hence the reason for our rules. The extended team (that is, parents, coaches) need to self-police. Ejecting the coach along with an out of control parent emphasizes the adults’ responsibility to the team.

It happens more at higher level games, when some refs cannot keep up with the speed of play. I have not seen many parents yell profanities at the refs. or harass them. There was one parent from Maryland in Ronaldo jersey, who was deservedly ejected and one parent from South Carolina, who disrupted an ECNL game for several minutes. Sure, there are plenty of parents questioning calls, but aside from these two instances, I have not heard profanity or harassing language from a parent. If you want to fix the shortage of refs pay them better.

Interesting that this string started out being about what is causing refs to not ref, and now has turned into multiple posts criticizing refs.

If that’s all you’ve heard, you’ve lived a very sheltered soccer life so far.

+1
Today I witnessed coach and a parent on the field for 5-7 minutes arguing with ref so they could run out the clock. A-Holes. Should have automatically been kicked out of the game.

I was just looking at unassigned games for WAGS and there is ALOT! Then I noticed that the Battlefield tournament pays much better than WAGS, so the Battlefield tournament seems to be getting more referes and most likely the better ones. Why wouldn't WAGS pay better? Crazy. WAGS is going to have a big shortage I believe. Not good for that tournament.

Huh?

here let me right click+synonyms for you:
for every parent shouting at a ref, you should be indebted to show us your parking space and accept any and all yelling we do if it's not faultless.

I said "Huh?" because your comment made no sense, not because I couldn't understand the words. What has anyone's parking got to do with the ref screwing up calls?

That, WFH, and every restaurant doing take out are 3 things we should keep.

COVID didn't put teams on opposing sides, the response to COVID did. Just helping you with that in case you say something like "COVID locked down our economy".
