Likewise, getting a babysitter for a kid who might have covid?
Maybe it's just knowing people whose kids have had mis-c, or people who's relatives have died horrible intubated deaths... But I seriously don't know how you people sleep at night.
We have a common responsibility to keep this virus from spreading. Period. That means we can have nice things like in person school, but only if we all take this seriously.
The idea that we have to quarantine kids who we know don't have COVID to keep COVID from spreading is obviously nonsense. My daughter had congestion over the weekend (mild) with a cough, no fever or other symptoms. We kept her home over the weekend (cancelled playdates and a visit with family) and got the whole household PCR tested. All negative. I sent her on Monday with a slight runny nose and a periodic cough mostly at night.
No one is dying of COVID because of my choices, because she doesn't have COVID. You're not taking COVID more seriously, because again, she doesn't have COVID. She might be getting over a very mild cold. She might have seasonal allergies. She doesn't have COVID. Your sanctimony doesn't make any sense.
