It is well known that she is a narc, not a nice person at all.

yeah, she's never pretended to be "nice". I respect that, far more honest then syrupy Jen Garner who makes me wanna puke.

DP, but it’s possible to be a decent person, i.e., someone who wouldn’t have an affair with a married man while she was still in a relationship with a different man herself, and to be honest, and not “syrupy.” These things are not mutually exclusive.

Can someone translate this gobbledy-gook for me? This DP is clearly from a different planet.

Nah, I just didn’t write clearly. It happens, and usually most people don’t equate the occasional run-on sentence with being from a different planet.

Translation: PP respects Julia Roberts because she doesn’t pretend to be “nice.” I pointed out that her “honesty” has nothing to do with her actual decency as a person. It’s fairly well acknowledged that her husband was still married to his first wife when she started dating him, which is lousy, as was her behavior around the affair.

I don’t know why Jennifer Garner got dragged into this. Celebrities present themselves in different ways.

Thanks now I'm twice as bored as I was. I said up thread I didn't REALLY need a translation. I was pointing at the crazy. IE. YOU.

NP here. Boy you get riled up quickly. Maybe work on that . . .
I happen to agree with the PP, fwiw.

Came across this on DM while eating lunch.

As expected, Julia Roberts is still gorgeous at age 53.

But, it struck me how bad her color looks with her skin color and makeup.

Wouldn't she look better with a warmer hair color--perhaps a red or brunette color along the spectrum between Diane Lane and Julianne Moore, both of whom look amazing BTW.

Thoughts?

I've never found her particularly gorgeous. Pretty? Yes. Prettier than me? Yes. But she has the advantages of the wealthy: trainers, cooks, nannies, stylists, etc. Those folks made even ordinary people appear to be spectacular looking. And good for them. I'd do it too, if I could afford it.

I think its important to remember that, an actual casualty.

I didn't know that, but, you're right, his mother collapsed and died around the same time (although probably unrelated).

"Patricia Moder, 59, collapsed early last week just after the family learned that news of their son's affair with the world's biggest female film star was to be made public."

Yes. Vera was Danny’s wife and she wouldn’t agree to a divorce.

“ Nearly two years into their relationship, with Vera still refusing a divorce, Julia took business into her own hands. Appearing in busy West Hollywood, where surely paparazzi would see her, she donned a white T-shirt with a hand-made slogan that read ‘A Low Vera’ emblazoned across the chest.

A dig at Moder’s then-wife, or an attempt at a pun, Roberts has never formally discussed the rationale behind her outfit choice. She commented briefly on the shirt when questioned by Oprah, only saying: ‘You know what that was about? It was private’, finishing with a short but sweet, ‘I stand by my T-shirt.’”

“That being said, it must have done the trick. Steimberg officially divorced from Moder in June 2002, and not a month later he and Roberts tied the knot at a midnight ceremony at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico.”

NP. Why is that crazy? That's what happened. She started an affair with a married man on set while she was in a long-term relationship. The most amazing part is that she is still married to the guy. Her relationship history back then was a mess. She basically left Kiefer Sutherland standing at the altar and ran off with Jason Patric. She was briefly married to Lyle Lovett after dating him for a hot minute. etc. etc.

DP has a single definition for a “decent person.” It does not include Julia Roberts because she believes JR broke up a marriage 20 years ago. (DP has no idea what caused the marriage to break up, but assumes that it was JR and is now boycotting JR’s movies.) She does not consume media involving or otherwise intentionally transact with people who she believes may have been involved in adultery at some point in there lives. DP is presumable a decent person by this narrow definition. DP has likely never voted in a presidential election, except for Obama, who is a decent person.

Yeah, I didn't REALLY want a translation. I was pointing at the crazy.

While I prefer Julia as a redhead or brunette, her current blonde hair looks much better on her than the blonde locks she sported shortly after the release of her iconic film 🎞 “Pretty Woman.”

When she bleached it blonde, then cut it short.
She looked so much prettier when she grew it out again.
