Sure. Messi's amazing goals are just keepers flubbing it, in my opinion.

GK positioning is important, too. A GK making a spectactular save often is a GK that was out of position.

VDA 06 smoked NC Courage, CESA, and SCUFC while enjoying a fine practice against Wilmington under beautiful weather (7-0)... any more questions? Thanx

I heard VDA-Courage was an evenly played game, but that Courage keeper was subpar, letting in two goals that most keepers would have no problem stopping. Courage beat VDA in the other age groups.

Your source must be Baghdad Bob.

2-0, yet blame the keeper. Doesn't seem like this evenly matched game could produce a goal by Courage? lol... I love the "it was even match" feel-good statement after a loss. Helps folks sleep at night.

My daughter is a younger age group, but I watched this game. VDA had one nice shot that went over the keepers head. Keeper whiffed at the ball. I agree with the OP that the 2nd goal was fluky. A ball was just kicked high and right at the keeper, but keeper must have been blinded by the sun or something and dropped it allowing VDA to score an easy tap in. VDA looked like the quicker team. Ball possession was even, maybe even a slight edge to Courage. Both teams got the ball up and down the field. VDA got both goals in the last 10 minutes of first half, so may have gone more defensive at that point. VDA probably had about 5 quality shots on goal, while Courage only had maybe 2. Just my perspective as a bystander.

Wasn't a whiff... the ball was a rocket over her head and in. Keeper would need to be as tall as that vda 06 keeper to have any chance at that goal. Was there watching DD at later game but dont have as much info as pp

Did you drive down to scout? The only people at the field were courage and vda parents. 😂

Have you noticed that some of the negative comments are from parents/players inside their own team/club? They don’t like the way the coach is organizing the team and they start posting and letting everyone think that parents outside their club/team are the ones making these comments.

I heard strikers sub-par, couldn't finish.
I heard mid-field sub-par, couldn't find a pass.
I heard defense sub-par, couldn't body up and defend.

Hm. I hate team sports where everyone is responsible. You sound like a U6 rec parent complaining that it's the keepers fault. lulz

The same people that complain about travel teams having back to back games at a tourney are the same that are justifying 6 practices a week and 4-5 games while playing for ecnl and HS. The hypocrites are astounding around here.

VDA 06 won. VDA 03/04 tied. Everyone lost lost convincingly other than 09 who had a competitive 2-1 loss.

Does that make you happy inside?

It does. The VDA chest-beating on this forum makes me laugh.

VDA had all-American from 06 team. Which other NOVA club had ECNL all-American? oh

VA Union didn't play NC Fusion. They played Loudoun. The 09s and 08s both had draws. Not sure about the older age groups.

They play in NC this upcoming weekend...

Scores are on ECNL site. 08 Union got hammered by Courage, beat Wilmington by a goal, tied NCFC and lost to Fusion in first two weeks.

One of you us talking about the Union boys (played Loudoun last Saturday) and the other is talking about the Union girls (played NCFC and NC fusion last weekend).

If we cared, we would look.
