This, and also one of my least favorite people in real life. Just people who assume that if someone is struggling with something, it must be because they are incompetent, and never because the thing they are struggling with is hard. And on DCUM, so often these posters are smug about stuff that 99% of parents struggle with. Like if I text my mom group about potty training, almost every single person in the group can commiserate with the challenge. But when I read potty training posts on DCUM, you'd think that 90% of children potty train with no issues by 2.5 and that just some small minority of terrible parents run into problems. But the reverse is actually true.
The smug parents here are astonishing. When things go right with my kids, I figure it happened in spite of my parenting and breathe a sigh of relief. I can't imagine being so smug that you think you have parenting all figured out.
A related, but slightly different addition to this list is a particular poster who believes that teen depression and suicidal ideation is nonsense that no parent should put up with.
It's probably the same ahole who is blaming Evan Rache; Wood's parents for her being a victim of abuse, they seriously think because to date their young adult children have not been abusive relationship ( to their knowledge) has to do with her parenting.. I sincerely hope these people never have to be confronted with the truth of how wrong they are.
As a parent I believe that her parents were not doing a good job as parents. They watched it happen and did not step in. It was not a one-and-done event, it occurred over YEARS!!! Yes, they should have done more. Why on earth are you defending them?

...but their point is well made. Usually it would be much faster for the poster to do a Google search. I will say "Google is your friend" if I think a query is too dumb for words and the person would be better served to ... wait for it ... use Google.
"Do your own research" is a Qanon, anti vax, conspiracy theorist motto. If someone says that, I assume they are dumb or crazy.

Well they arent wrong right now. Is travel so important that you would risk your health and others as well?
I don’t understand why folks who are so easily triggered by opposing opinions intentionally subject themselves.
-If you don’t want to travel (now or ever), then don’t visit the Travel forum....because—surprise, surprise—people want to discuss topics related to travel.
-If you don’t like to discuss diets/exercise, then don’t visit the Diet and Exercise form.
-If you don’t want to debate politics, then don’t visit the Politics forum.
Stay in your lane and stop spreading your personal misery to everyone else. Or, continue to post and prepare yourself for contrarian points of view. It’s not that difficult....
I'll agree on Travel and Politics, but not on Diet and Exercise. Diet and Exercise is focused on weight loss. If you're interested in special diets unrelated to weight loss, you could probably post in Health and get a reasonable discussion. But if you're one of the many folks interested in exercise but not weight loss, you're pretty much stuck with Diet and Exercise. And there are a lot of crazies on there.
