Garland was presented as the alternative, apolitical and seen as having total integrity. I still want the fight for Yates, who is the best equipped to dive back into the AG office and fix it. I'd love for Jones or Patrick to head the civil rights division, which will be very prominent in this admin. All of them have great qualities.
No matter who Biden picks, he will be accused of interfering in the investigation. Garland may be perceived as apolitical now, but wait until the right wing noise machine is through with him.
