Every single Republican senator was on board, and a number of them are up for re-election for the first time since then and can be held accountable at the ballot box. Trump now is just doing his job by vetting, interviewing, and sending up a nominee to the Senate. He was not a senator in 2016 or even an elected official. McConnell would likewise be doing his job now (unlike then) by scheduling a vote as soon as he can. What happened in the past is over. There is a good chance that the Republican overreach will help Biden secure the electoral votes he needs to win (just look at the fundraising gains) and turn the Senate to Democrats, but Democrats must be careful to keep their powder dry! While it may feel good to protest, it would be counterproductive to overreact and take to the streets when a nominee is announced and/or pressure senators outside of official channels during the hearings. There needs to be some decorum or there could be a backlash against Democrats that will help Trump and Republicans in November.

Trump supporter here, no way I would want her. NO! Many qualified judges who are conservative women would be better
Pretty sure the PP is just the usual dumb troll, trying to stir things up. I agree with you though.
The most prolific online fundraising platform for Democratic candidates and causes said Sunday morning that donors had contributed more than $91 million in the 28 hours after the Supreme Court announced Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died.
ActBlue said Ginsburg’s death had led to an unprecedented surge of donations to progressive groups. Donors gave $6.3 million in just one hour late Friday, and $70.6 million on Saturday, the platform said, both records for their respective time periods.
The previous daily record was nearly $42 million. The previous hourly record was just over $4 million.
“The record-breaking response we've seen from small-dollar donors shows that the left is eager to fulfill her final wish and ready to fight back against [President] Trump and [Senate Majority Leader Mitch] McConnell’s vow to push through a Supreme Court nominee,” ActBlue executive director Erin Hill said in a statement. “Grassroots donors are fired up and investing in taking back the Senate majority and the White House, electing Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, and bolstering organizations on the frontlines of the impending judicial confirmation fight.”

If Biden wins and the Senate turns, then all should make it clear that if the GOP forces this through in the Lame Duck session, that the Democrats will:
1) remove the filibuster
2) amend 28 US 1 to allow for up 15 justices on the supreme court;
3) pass statehood for DC and PR (if they want it)
4) Pass universal healthcare (since the ACA is effectively dead anyhow)
5) pass legislation overturning Citizens United
6) Pass legislation standardizing electronic voting and mail in voting standards
7) tighten all of the ethics loopholes the Trump administration has exploited
I am sure there is more, and some of this should happen anyhow, but Mitch can try to get his one SCOTUS appointment through at this juncture, but the will of the people will have spoken, loudly and serious reform and modernizing will need to happen.
Give DC 2 voting senators!!!
And Puerto Rico!
Every Democrat should get their personal senator. Paid for by taxing the rich.

Biden is in last term of his presidency, Dems hold senate. Probable Republican like Romney will wine and senate will switch to Republican control after the election. It is 9/15 and Clarence Thomas dies, are you telling me you would tell your democratic senator and Schumer not to replace Thomas with a liberal justice since it’s so close to the election.
I call total BS, you would do that is a second and don’t kid yourself that you would not.
Once again, you are vastly underestimating the power of a voting trend you’ve never seen before. It’s going to be the young people that blow this shish out of the water. Run and poll that. When these 18 year olds have their marriage and children being schooled (virtually?) with no social security[i], no privacy, basic rights completely compromised, they are going to change the entire political landscape. America as a country is a baby in comparison to other societies. Unless a balance of power is true and protected, it is inevitable that these exploits on both sides won’t blow up in everyone’s face. So confess your political sins, repent, and redeem yourself with actions that truly change matters in a way that makes every single person walking around in this country feel safe when they wake up. Not scared, not depressed, not fearful of whatever the idiot of chief is destroying next. Fix it!
Biden tried to cut or freeze social security at least three times when he was in the Senate. Thank God he was a failure. If you want SS to be around to "get yours" Biden is NOT your guy for the White House.
