Phase 2 is a bit more complicated. Our baby pool will remain closed. We will provide seating but we will limit numbers and numbered table groupings will be by reservation that correspond to numbered lanes. It’s trickier than Phase 1 though. I think it might be tough to convince people to maintain 10’ distance although they will be closer than 10’ when passing while doing laps. I think it may be tough to keep some from wanting to “play”, but we will try. As volunteers we are doing our best.
If you know the families will you worry about them being 10’ apart?

Also, have any of you put plans/ letter to members etc on a website where I could copy it for our plan?
If you call around to the swim or dive reps they will happily share
It pisses me off. There is no recreational swimming in phase 2. Yet here we are having people skirt the rules.
I just want to recreational swim with my family in a lane.![]()

If you don’t feel comfortable yet then don’t go. Wait and see how it plays out in a few weeks. Any pool will still have a lap lane if you just want to swim laps.
It’s not a comfort level thing. We are doing lap swim and following the rules. Pools allowing for recreational swim now or in phase 2 are violating the law. It’s wrong.

I agree it should be just don't go if you don't feel comfortable doing so. It's just absurd that my 4 year old can go mingle all day at a daycare but not splash around in a pool for an hour.
I guess we can try to call and email about Phase 3? That’s all I can think of.

Nope. this is the inanity that is the Phase 2 regulations. In Olivia McCormick's world everyone has to be 10 feet apart in the pool, even if they are related. She insists on that because she thinks the 'business community' requested this. I have heard her make this proclamation on multiple ocassions.
And it’s limited to three, 10’ apart. Go figure.
You can hold your child in your lap and kiss his cheek AFTER you get out of the water.
Her explanation was that the business community didn't want the responsibility and felt like it was too much work to expect the pool staff to know who was there together. Which makes sense if you are thinking about commercial pools. Does not make sense for small community pools, where the lifeguards know who is there together.
It’s crazy. I am a board member of our club. We have about 200 families. I could probably recognize members of most memberships. If I can’t it is probably because they don’t go to the pool anyhow. Almost all of our guards belong to the pool.
