She appears to mostly have trouble getting along with the unstable and conflict-seeking personalities who are purposefully cast as Real Housewives. Because if it was a show where the women were normal humans who got along with their friends all the time, there would be no show.

The long-term friend lives in Florida and Kyle, obviously, lives in California. Bethenny may be good at long-distance friendships with people she sees once in a while, but not good with friendships with those who live in the same city.

+1. Bethenny's only close friends actually in Manhattan and the surrounding area, in her day-to-day life, seem to be...her paid staff.

NP here. FWIW, I don't think it's bad that she leverages the show for success and fame, it's just that she doesn't seem to know when or how to draw the line. She will burn any bridge or cut down to any depth to make good television. She's good at being on TV, she's just a shitty friend.

You're all basing this what you see on TV. How the hell do any of you know if she has other friends in NY that aren't on this show or paid staff.

Yeah, I am basing this on what I see on TV. As in interviews where BETHENNY HERSELF says that she has a small core group of friends and people she trusts, and that they all live far away from her, and that's tough.
