"Police had previously confirmed that UVA President Teresa Sullivan had contacted the department to request a criminal investigation and said they were reviewing a published account of the alleged incident. But police have not yet accumulated enough information to take the matter beyond an inquiry and open a formal investigation."
Because Jackie will not work with police they cannot advance this past an inquiry.

It's such bullshit if it's true. She has no business running a university if she is this naive.
NP. The victim was told the Charlottesville police had no jurisdiction. And yes, the victim was a naive freshman, which the frats targeted.

Wow you are incorrigible. The article does not say that Jackie will not work with the police. How much does UVa pay you for each time you attack the victim?
You realize that your paranoia and absurd speculation that someone is paying people to comment on a minor anonymous website makes you sound less than debate-worthy, don't you?
Where's your published support? Trying to distract from the fact that you have none?
What, you don't trust unnamed sources when he/she makes an allegation? My word isn't good enough for you? Seems ironic.
But let's say for a minute I don't know for a fact that she's not participating ... are you then of the belief that the Cville police are also complicit in the denial of Jackie's story and the obstruction of justice for the rapists? Because certainly if she had been participating and had named an accuser there would be more than an inquiry at this point. There would be a formal investigation, and we most likely would know the subjects of the investigation.
Or is even the police department, under all this national (actually, global) attention, also willfully preventing the pursuit of justice by declining to elevate their inquiry to a formal investigation? Weeks later, and Jackie - who you deny is not cooperating - has named her assailants and still no investigation has been started nor suspects accused. That is your position? You must have aced Logic 101 in college.

Anonymous wrote:Here’s what I see. Jackie alleges a rape occurred in 2012. Who did it? I don’t want to say. Well you’re alleging a crime was committed that has serious consequences - who were they? I don’t want them contacted. So what do you want? Just to have my one side of the story told with no possible rebuttal from those accused of this crime. Well how do we know it really occurred? You just have to believe me. O.K.![]()
starting to wonder if ‘Jackie" is a composite of several people/incidents like the Janet Cooke story.

That could just as easily describe a group of women who collectively develop a convenient narrative that contains a combustible mix of true, imagined and wished-upon facts.
A group of people coming up with a group narrative is comparable to a group of people raping a person?
