This time Montgomery had it worse than most all the surrounding counties. Plus, Howard is much smaller. Can't compare the two.
Except MCPS often takes cues from its surrounding districts. Most schools are opening. MCPS should too
MCPS should ignore that it has more schools and our county has more roads than HCPS so that it doesn’t get FOMO?
Don't let Howard peer pressure you, Montgomery. Just say NO.
Yep, open on time instead of delay
No, close all day. Open Tues with a delay. Wed will be closed with more snow..
They’re predicting no more than 1-2 inches on Wednesday. They shouldn’t close for that at this point.
Oh yes they should close for that. That is on top of this icebergs
I honestly can't tell if you're being serious or if you're mocking the snow fearmongers.
A little of both at this point. If the cleaning was adequate, definitely open with a delay. But it's not there. Yet. And probably won't get there by 4pm or whatever time they plan to announce.
Have you bothered to leave your house? I don't understand how anyone could claim these conditions warrant closing schools. People have been out and about since Tuesday.
Because, gasp, little kids might have to walk on ice! Or may have to walk in the street to get around the snowcrete mountains. Never mind the fact there are crossing guards at most of the major crosswalks where this is an issue.
Have you ever helped the guards on a regular day? Yeah didn't think so. You want the mitigate traffic and yield to vehicles honking on a one lane road or help little Larla over the snow? Geez.

It will be indoor recess until March but that usually happens every winter because of cold temps
