I checked all the pre-season tournaments are teams usually play in and NO Herndon teams are registered yet for any of the normal events our teams play in: Loudoun Premier, OBGC. And some of the teams that should be signed up for Herndon's own tournament are missing from the applied teams list (and it's Herndon's tournament, all the teams U15 and below are supposedly required to participate).
We paid almost a $600 "tournament fee" for tournaments and coach travel expenses and have no tournaments scheduled yet. To assess that fee acurately, the club would have to know which tournaments each team was doing in advance.

18 players on a high school team each paying $550 = $9900 team fees collected.
Four local tournaments at $80 per player= $5760.
State cup is around $800 I think, adding $1600 for fall and spring= $7360.
$9900 collected - $7360 spent and this is a HIGH estimate, likely much lower = at least $2540 overage per team.
I don't think Playmetrics costs $2500 per team!
I would rather pay a little more for local tournaments than have to pay all the extra fees added on to stay to play hotels.

Our Team Manager used to register us and collect money for the tournaments $ coach travel one at a time over the course of the year (and it was usually around $70 per tournament total per family?).
Everyone was surprised to see the team fees basically double for this coming season but thought it just meant more tournament and inflation. 4 was a little lower than other clubs seemed to do. And collecting it upfront was less work for the team managers who already have a tough job.
Maybe Playmetrics costs more and they are passing that cost along to families? Seems like most clubs have switched over to it.
The offer emails we got for both kids stated four tournaments total. Team fees were between $300 and $400 for each kid. Is the $600 fee for older kids? ECNL RL?

This season, something is not right with the administration. They doubled our "team fees" with no explanation-from 200 something last year (for 4 tournaments) to $500 this year. Are we playing in twice as many tournaments? No one knows.
There is at least one lower team that I know kids are registered for are missing from the NCSL divisions page.
Teams that in the past were required to play in the Herndon-sponsored Dulles tournament are missing from the participating teams list.
None of the other tournaments our teams usually play in pre-season have ANY Herndon teams listed as participating: Loudoun Premier Cup, Revolution Cup, OBGC, etc.
Does anyone have any insider information on what the heck is happening? What would be happening at a club to prevent all the teams from being registered for tournaments?
Is there a change in administration this year compared to previous years?
