I liked the second season overall, not as well as the first.

I’d commented earlier in the thread, but some things that made no sense, or were plot holes, I’d just have to ignore and let it go, because I still enjoyed it. For the finale, there were more than a few huh? moments for me. Here’s my grumpy list:

- Jesse and Ellie just chatting away while they made their way to the bookstore to meet up with Tommy, even walking down a Main Street in broad daylight when they know there are rival factions in the area.

- The five minute side quest to that island, where she was nearly hanged and disemboweled, and they just decided to let her go when they saw their village attacked. Made zero sense that they wouldn’t have quickly dispatched her and then left.

- Her impromptu boat driving and swimming survival skills in full gear.

- Dina and Ellie’s nicely washed and brushed hair throughout the episodes. Wouldn’t you at least tie it up if you were crawling around a lot of tight spaces where it could snag you? Or cut it short, so you wouldn’t have to deal with it. I’ll admit that one is extra picky.

- I loved Bella Ramsey’s performance in Game of Thrones and think she does a good job with the more emotional scenes in TLOU. But in the scenes where she’s in normal conversation, her line readings come across very monotone and flat to me. Especially when she’s in a scene with the actress playing Dina, who I think was the highlight of the season.

I’ll definitely watch season three, just hope there isn’t too much of a time gap.

This just does not translate well from the video game.

It is just an utter mess of a borefest. We are supposed to be oooh and ahhhed about the settings and yet another post zombie apocalypse. They've already been doing zombie shows and movies for the last 25 years. This is just like walking dead where humans are actually worse than the zombies themselves.

I think Ellie was a fine actress in S1 playing a 14 year old. But as a 21 year old playing 19, she is def less artistically experienced than the rest of the cast. Isn’t Abby 27? That’s a lot of years of experience gap in your 20s!

It will be! That's how the game is played, though you went back and forth between Abby and Ellie, but now it will be about her. Damn, Kaitlyn Dever is a great actress, can't wait to watch it.

If anyone is following along, no need to worry about a dog death. The scene with Owen and Mel was preceded by it in the game, but it didn’t make it into the show.

It's not the character of Ellie as played by Bella Ramsey. It's the character of Ellie as written/directed by Mazin, Druckman, etc. The hate has been unfairly misdirected at Ramsey.

I much prefer Ellie in the game, but I also recognize the limitations that character would have in a TV show. A terminator type of girl/young woman that is all steel and racks up dozens of kills wouldn't play well to a mass audience. I also know that my issues with the character are rooted in a general disdain for TV/movie teenagers that are over-the-top plucky and immature. However, teenagers and young adults in real life are immature, perceive themselves as being invincible, and are very annoying. TV Ellie is consistent in that and that was a decision that rests with the creators, and not her. When given the opportunity to portray other characteristics she's done well.

Not PP, but the comment is accurate. If Bella were "hotter" they'd whinge less. Disgusting, and sadly accurate.

I totally disagree. Her horrible personality (Ellie) eclipses any physical appearance issues.

It's both, it's not just that she's unattractive, but she doesn't really have an expressive face, which could be overlooked as there are plenty of "character actors" who aren't good looking that are great actors, but add the unfortunate casting to a role of a character who is insufferable and entitled and it makes the whole thing hard to watch. Which is a shame because the rest of the cast is really good, along with the overall production values.

One question I had from the last episode, I can understand running around the countryside and not seeing hordes of zombies, but Seattle would be overrun, somehow not a single zombie in the season finale of a zombie show.

It's years in the future and Seattle has been militarized. I think they would have done an effective job at getting rid of infected by now. Humans are more of a threat in that setting
