They have tried it many times in the past. All failed. BLM in 2020 helped them. Otherwise they were not able to make it.

It seems like earlier intervention should have taken place. But it didn't, in part because people were apparently so focused on blasting out positive PR about the admissions changes.

Whether you like it or not, this school is in trouble. Entire departments at other high schools aren't sending out emails telling kids to repeat courses, reconsider their commitment to their school, etc.

How are Math 4 teachers involved in or distracted by the TJ admissions process? Too busy trashing low-income kids on DCUM?

It's nothing about income. Low income families also have capable kids. We should forget about income and race. Academic merit should be the only standard.

This year's math 4 includes class of 2024 and 2025 (mentioned in the article). Assuming class 2022, 2023, 2024 have the same qualify of admission, if this year's math 4 is worse than previous math 4, that means the new admission is worse than the old admission.

You’re assuming the *only* change is the admissions process.

We also had a disrupted 1.5 years from the pandemic.

It includes class of 2024 students and 2025 students. We do not know how many of them are from 2024 and how many of them are from 2025.

This article didn't say 2025 students are better. How did you conclude the new selection process was yielding stronger results?
TJ usually have 20 AIME each year. This year it drops to 8. This is the evidence to show the new selection process is worse than before.
There will be more statistics out.
