I'll agree on Travel and Politics, but not on Diet and Exercise. Diet and Exercise is focused on weight loss. If you're interested in special diets unrelated to weight loss, you could probably post in Health and get a reasonable discussion. But if you're one of the many folks interested in exercise but not weight loss, you're pretty much stuck with Diet and Exercise. And there are a lot of crazies on there.

Yes I was so nervous and scared last year after reading the college board for a year. My kid is completely average and was admitted to all of the places he applied. It was really no big deal. DCUM is a weird place full of 350k HHI, 1400 SAT/4.2 GPAs.

Please define average. Unweighted GPA? Test scores?

My sense is dcum parents define average as APs, great grades and test scores, unique extracurriculars, etc.—just not ivy level.

I want to know where a 3.4 kid with no APs and crummy test scores because they suck at math ends up. DCUM says community college.

The bolded is my kid and based on DCUM, and I was afraid he wouldn't get admitted anywhere. That's average by DCUM standards.
