Some people value higher education for their kids. Both have law degrees. Would be pretty strange if they didn't encourage and support a college degree. Seems basic for upper middle class!

No you don't, there's a train station to Los Angeles with a regular schedule. I know as we stayed at the Casa 425 Hotel and used it to travel to Downtown LA. And the city of Claremont is absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite college towns I have been to.
