“The Facebook page for Fountain Square Group, whose principal, Jamie Schwartz, has been a longtime campaign aide to the congressman, has been deleted. Representatives of the company, whose employees acted as Chabot’s campaign spokesmen, could not be reached by phone or social media. Fountain Square Group has extensive contracts with other local elected officials and businesses and is a leading Republican-leaning consultant. Schwartz also appears to have deleted his Facebook account.
Schwartz also co-founded Prime Media, a “full-service political media consulting, production and placement firm, according to its website. It has done work for Hamilton County judges, township trustees and local ballot issues.
Schwartz’s father, Jim Schwartz, serves as Chabot’s campaign treasurer, according to FEC records.”
Schwartz has at times been Chabot’s deputy chief of staff, spokesman, campaign manager and finance director.
“Federal prosecutors have been investigating Republican Rep. Steve Chabot's bewildering campaign finances "for a while," according to a new report from local news station Fox19, and have convened a grand jury in Cincinnati. Jennifer Edwards Baker also reports that Jamie Schwartz, the Chabot consultant at the center of the scandal who'd allegedly gone missing when the scandal first broke in September, turned himself in to the U.S. Attorney's office that same month.
