Terry Swigoff wanted to cast Mira Sorvino in a movie and every time he mentioned her name to Weinstein would just hang up the phone. Weinstein sounds like psychopath who ruled Hollywood. I always thought Mira was a very funny actress and wondered why she was not in more movies. Now we know. I think movie goers should all file a class action lawsuit against Weinstein and his movie companies. The product we consumers were paying for was created in a criminal way.

Exactly.

How many women’s professional livelihoods were completely derailed by this monster? How many are detailed by all the other Harvey Weinsteins in the country? Just horrific.

You sound like Matt Damon trying to explain away abuse.

A truly amazing story. It makes so very clear what a monster he was, and how determined she was, as an artist, to not just go away and take another job. I hope this article will help people understand why women don't come forward. This article expressed so clearly her dream, of her beautiful movies, and how determined she was to make them. She is a true artist.

This story is worthwhile reading. I'm glad she came forward. I guess any woman can relate to the complexities of abuse of power by men. But are men able to relate to it, even just a bit?
I also wonder when people will stop caring and this will become "the new normal" and nothing really changes. I hope that doesn't happen.

I wonder how many more actresses will come out. I am starting to finally realize the reach of his power. Just wow!

Salma Hayek shares her story

Just came here to post about this! So brave of her of to post so many details. And I would like to say this story is "unbelievably shocking" but sadly, it's totally believable. And it explains why Salma Hayek essentially disappeared after "Frida." This is sickening.
