I love how she thinks that buying fresh berries and having a cute dog is enough to fill her day. Nice sense of purpose. Sorry but she is a shallow loser and her life is just perfect for her. She would probably have a mental break down if she had to make a decision for herself or have anyone rely on her for anything. Good lord. OP, do you think he is able to "hide" his keeping of you because his income isn't strictly salary-based? Meaning, he gets paid each time he testifies, etc.? I guess I understand that in a marriage one spouse might not be 100% clued in, but you'd think wife would at least know what his salary, and therefore, the average annual income is (they do have to file tax returns which she needs to sign, right?).

I already gave my guess as to why he married her. I don't care that he prefers being married to her instead of me - he wants kids and has them with her and I don't want kids. So he and I being married wouldn't work.
I missed why he married her when he was already with you. Can you repeat that?

He's not paying for sex. He's paying for a relationship dynamic that is different from what he has at home. I am the NP from a few pages back who was in a near-identical relationship. The guy I was with enjoyed keeping his wife on a tight leash financially while spending crazy amounts of money on me. Money was something they fought about and, fortunately for him, he was the one who earned it all so he could use it control her. We didn't have that dynamic in our relationship and he enjoyed doing things for me that were completely over-the-top. As another PP pointed out, guys like this do whatever the fuck they want. Their choices probably won't make sense to you, because you aren't that kind of person.

You're right, we wouldn't. There may be aspects of your life that are great. But your attitude about this 'relationship' is almost pathologically bizarre. Many, many people are telling you that and you're in major denial. I'm not riled up at you, I just feel sorry for you. Honestly.
