I just recently had my second at 41. Surprise pregnancy, after dealing with years of infertility and needing IVF for #1, followed by several more years of infertility and failed treatments.
She's an easy baby, so we got very lucky there. Pregnancy and delivery were actually easier this time around than with my first. I had extra monitoring due to age, and there were differences due to the current pandemic (worries, no family help, etc), but so far, so good.
My grandmothers were both in their early 40s when their last children were born. It isn't like "older mom" is some new idea.

No, and ignore the inevitable DCUM poster who warns that you will be dead or disabled by the time the kid graduates from high school.

Not too old. You can do this if you want.

But, I definitely noticed a big difference between being pregnant in my 40s vs being pregnant in my 30s. Everything about being pregnant seems to be a bit easier when you're younger. But, I got a late start because I went to graduate school, etc., so wasn't the best option for me when I was young. I'm extremely grateful for my kids, though, and would do it all again.

There's never a good time to have kids; there's never a bad time to have kids.

Old thread: but yes too old. Grandparents are getting older college comes at a time when you need retirement. And so on.

My mum has at 40 42 45. All very smart kids

Even better, CVS at 10-12 weeks. I had one with all of my pregnancies.

Same. In our 50s now with kids in middle and high school. You people who think we are sound like my 11 year old who thinks his 20 year old cousin is ancient. Ha!

How are you and the kids now? I feel like folks underestimate how draining kids can be as tweens/teens.
