Maybe honors could be a 0.5 bump and AP a 1.0- but only if students earn a 3 or higher?

The scores don’t even arrive until after we’re out for the summer so that would be chaotic. Larla might have a 4.4, but she won’t know for weeks.

And also, taking the AP Exam is not a requirement for taking the course.

It is in a lot of school districts, as is the grade bump from scores.

Is Health still an "Honors" class? At the very least they could start by differentiating between the rigor of an AP class and something that most kids can do without much trouble at all.

Health is a great example of Honors for all. Health A and B are required for graduation and mcps only offers the honors level.

Can you explain your reasoning?

Because there is no on-level option in many cases (Ex. Honors Eng 11 and AP in many high schools). Every available level should not be weighted the same way in the WGPA.

Wrong! I believe all schools have on level English. We’re at Wootton where it exists or at least did a few years ago.

Whoever said “Wrong!” is an idiot.
And definitely like someone from Wootton.

No, on-level English no longer exists at Wootton. Honors is the lowest level.

I disagree. It definitely matters to the competitive students as they are trying to compare themselves with others at their own school. The guidance counselors report percentages in each GPA band so if there is more disparity it is easier to distinguish the top students.

Oh well, I guess those "competitive students" will have to get a life.
