If Trump has any common sense, he'll endorse Cornyn. It wasn't that long ago that the candidacy of Roy Moore resulted in a Democrat winning in Alabama of all places.

Um....Trump doesn't have any common sense. And everything he touches dies. So I'm increasingly optimistic he won't endorse Cornyn. And a Paxton/Talarico match up will be something else...

At a human, C-Span level: I love Crockett. I don’t know much about her, but she’s so fun on TV. Talarico looks like the most cookie-cutter Republican ever.

But: Talarico looks like the most cookie-cutter Republican ever. It seems easy to imagine some Republicans voting for him because they think he’s the Republican.

We 100% need more Jasmine Crocketts in politics. But you go to the polls with the voters you have. In 2020, the "Trump Train" literally tried to run a Biden-Harris campaign bus off the road in the most liberal part of Texas.

It's not hard to understand...MAGAs won't vote for brown people and Sharrod was popular and will win a blue wave election.

I wish I could be so sure. Yes, Vivek Ramaswamy is a brown vegetarian Hindu in Ohio, but he has the R buy his name, and Peter Thiel to buy him the Senate seat, just he bought one for JD Vance, even though the D running against him was more likeable and a better candidate.

A year ago, Trump promised... • DOGE was going to find $2 trillion in
waste to balance the budget • We were supposed to be getting
$2,000 rebate checks • We were going to pay no income taxes
because tariffs would pay for everything
• Electric bills would be cut in half
• Gas would be under $2 a gallon. • The price of groceries were going way
down • They were going to release Epstein's
client list
• There would be no new wars • And we would be "tired of so much
winning!"
Tired of winning yet?

I’m one who thinks voters should have a say but after what democrats did when Biden dropped out I am at the point where I can’t muster any outrage about this.
You really have no room to complain.

Biden dropped out. There was no mechanism for a "mini primary" or any other solution. Harris was the vice President and legally controlled the campaign war chest. All of the other potential candidates endorsed her with a day or two of the Sunday announcement. If the public felt like Biden could still handle the job, he would have continued to run, but that was not the case and at that late date, there wasn't another mechanism, other than a brokered convention, which would have been a nightmare.

Agreed...the Democratic party screwed this up bigly. And Harris herself was in an incredibly difficult situation - she likely knew more than most how much Biden had declined, but there was no way she could enter a primary against her own boss. The decision to step down had to come from Biden and until his debate against Trump his common sense couldn't compete with his ego.

The Montana thing though - this was premeditated. There's no such thing as a "vice senator" but Daines decided he needed one.

Polymarket is a manipulated and meaningless platform. I will never understand flushing away money like that.

Polymarkets odds are now
Republican 53%
Dems 47% and keep going up.

There a 45% chance of a House and Senate SWEEP for the Dems
Republican senate and Dems house 37%
Republican sweeps are 19%,.
