OPINION: He couldn't hypothetically start at SJC.
SELF-OWN: If SJC's Bucknell and Utah middie commits really are superior talents that implies SJC does inferior job supporting their kids' recruitment. As you point out, they all play for same club.
OUTCOME: Hopefully all these kids landed at school that's right for them. But Potomac kid clearly got the most desirable outcome. Some parents are jealous and embarrassing themselves on here claiming to be better talent evaluators than Duke coaching staff.
You realize that there are more than one person offering opinions? And how do you know this kid got the "most desirable outcome"? You have no idea what went into other kids recruiting efforts, desires or outcomes.
All I will say is that his own club coach didn't seem to think he was talented enough to be on the top line. The guy who saw him the most in practice and games over the last 3 summers. I guess he was wrong too. As a parent of a 26 D1 commit, both my son and I have our feelings on what is really behind it based on what we know and having played against him, but no need to further the discussion. Those who know...know.
Honestly, I actually feel bad for the kid cause now everyone is going to be paying attention to him this year and during his Duke career to see who was right in this discussion. We will all find out, eventually.
Again, how do you explain the '27 NL middie going to Penn. He is 2nd line and maybe the poorest club performer of their middies. Don't tell me Penn isn't Duke. It's a top line school by any metric.

Anonymous wrote:Not to mention tion that college lax is about the best fit. A kid starting at Bucknell or Utah may be a great fit for that player. Comparing one to the other is not the point both may have won in recruiting if they got what they wanted
Anonymous wrote:Coaches are not necessarily looking for the most talented player, they are looking for the player with the best fit. I don’t know how “fit” is defined for duke, but most likely fit has a lot of different boxes that need to be checked.
