haha that is funny. What? Totally kid dependent. My kid did middle school at BASIS (then switched to Walls for social reasons - friends going) and BASIS was a top notch experience. But the school suited my kid - curriculum is no joke, and requires a lot of diligence and attention to detail. But if your kid can handle that - I am confident it is the best (public) middle school in DC and your kid will learn much much more than at a DCPS school.

There’s a lot more to school than the US news rankings. What sort of culture do you want?

DP. I agree there is more to a school than rankings like this, but schools that are warm and fuzzy yet fail to educate the students become a problem the older your kids get. The stakes are just too high by that point.

And it isn't Basis by a "big margin". Hardy was #6 and is an school with very strong academics, like basis, with a lot to offer that Basis doesn't
