The last part has been cut off. It is " dumbest to lead the pack."

Agree. She might actually have a chance of winning as a 3rd party. I would never vote for her unless she changed her positions on pardoning Trump.

Any Democrat besides Biden who has expressed interest in running (Gavin Newsome, etc.) would crush Trump, and on the other hand, any Republican (Haley, Scott, etc.) would crush Biden.

Nobody disagrees with this, right?

So what I don't understand is why are the Democrats so hell bent on locking Trump in jail or keeping him off the ballot. Don't they need/want to keep him in the race in order for Biden to have a shot at winning?

"Democrats" aren't "hell bent."

The law is taking its course, with appropriate processes being carried out by people from all parties whose jobs it is to do so, because of the illegal things he did. To ignore the law is to become a lawless land.

Seriously?
If the avalanche of criminal and civil matters against Trump were genuine, and not political theatre, why is everything timed to coincide with the 2024 election? The January 6 stuff happened over three years ago.

because Trump has taken every.single.stall route he could at every turn. These lawsuits could already have been adjudicated one way or the other, but to suggest it is the DOJs fault they have taken until now is just plain stupid.

Anyone familiar with the legal system knows it’s not a fast process. Also, in ALL of his lawsuits, “stall and appeal” is his strategy. Always.

The polling does not support the bolded for either party.

Agree. I hope she's in talks with the Liz Cheney wing to do just that. It would take A LOT for me to pull the lever for Nikki Haley, but if she fully repudiates Trump and is on the ballot I might do it.

She should, but she won't. There won't be a competent GOP who run third party because they would rather have Trump than any democrat.

Gotta love the inherent misogyny as well. Always reliable for Trump.

It's the stress of losing all of those legal battles. They've been aging him worse than his first year in the White House. And his legal troubles are only going to get worse. He's been trying to delay anything and everything and the courts have been pushing to get all of this resolved before the elections. With 91 charges against him in so many different courtrooms, between cases, appeals, appeals to Supreme Courts (both state and federal), the stress of the legal battles is wearing him down. He's definitely not going to get better while they are all on-going and so that means this constant decay of his mental faculties over the next 9 months. It's a shame that this has to happen on national network news, but this is what he's bought. Not that I wish him personally ill, but watching his decay into dementia on national network news may be the only thing that saves this country from a second Trump term of office.

I’ve thought about this quite a bit. I don’t know how a 76-year old man can take on so much stress and juggle so many different things at the same time, but he somehow pulls it off. It’s amazing that it never catches up to him. He seems to have no health problems whatsoever. I mean Carl Weathers, who just died in his sleep a few days ago, was the same age as Trump and was in great shape his whole life.

What? Trump is incontinent, has a neurological issue that causes him to drag his leg, is frequently incoherent or mixes things up, can't walk a short distance, etc., etc. He has health problems.
