PP. that’s exactly the reason why we visited Zanzibar. I have to say our safari experience was amazing. We wish we had spent more time in mainland Tanzania, instead of Zanzibar.

Not the OP, but we just got back from Tanzania. Forest Chem Chem (nice, easy start, lovely), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge (you only need one day in the crater), Lamai Serengeti, and Singita Faru Faru. The drives at Lamai and Singita were just outstanding.

100%. I’ve been to every European place listed on here so far - none are really “over rated”. I do have preferences, like Spain instead of Italy. Everywhere in Europe instead of Germany. But if you do the right trip at the right time, there are amazing experiences everywhere.
Everyone loves to hate Paris, I’ve been around 10 times and I love it and I’m far from a Francophile.

Oh please! I'm Italian-American and I've been going to Italy regularly since I was six years old and I'm 50-something now. There are PLENTY of places in Italy where you can get away from the hordes that are spectacular. My family is from two such regions - and no, I won't divulge them!!!

I’ve heard this too! Go to Africa but only do a safari for 3-4 days.
We did 7 days, and that was plenty. But I don't think 3-4 would have been enough! Unless you can afford to fly around the Serengeti.
