I actually can empathize with many Trump supporters—save for those who see and own their bigotry proudly (and I am not one, not even close) ... I believe I can do it without validating the worst or becoming a completely spineless Centrist/center-right Democrat. I can argue with them too, but actually keep a friend.

Seems entirely out of fashion in this town, if not a completely absent skill, particularly for people crafting policy and _message_ in politics on the Hill and in the WH.

You and half of TikTok. I have to say I am surprised that no one even troubles to hid their shame. I guess that’s how everyone keeps those white farmhouse kitchens pristine.

You should talk to some ER doctors and dentists. This is not some cute benign neglect, raising a wild child Huck Finn parenting you’re boasting about.

It's such a beautiful, green, nourishing, good-smelling planet. Other planets do not have this teeming life and ecosystem - they are dead. We need a healthy planet and our kids need it to be mentally and physically healthy and safe. Now the oysters in Biscayne Bay are full of forever chemicals. Now all streams have microplastics. Now all Americans have forever chemicals and BPA in their bodies and in their breast milk if they are lactating.

The European Food Safety Authority determined that the safety limit for BPA should be .05 nanograms per kilogram of body weight per day (ng/kg bw/day). According to the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the average U.S. resident over the age of two consumes 200 ng/kg bw/day—more than 5,000 times the new safety limit.

If the other mommies won't like us if we prioritize the environment in our choices and say so (if asked), are they really our friends? If the other mommies like us better because we got a big Tahoe, are they true friends?

Flame away I guess. And no, taking a flight or driving a car does not invalidate concern for the environment and prioritizing it when we can. And no, the appalling lack of action by corporations and politicians because of capitalism and money in politics does not mean our choices don't matter. Our buying power is powerful especially as wealthy and upper middle class women.

1. Go away
2. Tell this story to China and India - they are the real polluters
3. Go away now

You're dumb. Just really, really dumb.
A) We still pollute.
B) We have taken our fair share of the pollution pie (e.g., industrial revolution) and now are asking them to not do the same. How do you think that would go over if the roles were reversed? We have zero moral authority on that point.

DP. I also have a lot of existential anxiety over the state of our environment. And yes I have some judgment for the Kardashian loving conspicuous consumers out there and wish people would stop with all the cheap plastic goody bag favors.

But I’m also realistic that we aren’t going to individually bootstrap our way out of climate change. I can recycle, take public transit, buy natural fibers, install solar panels, renovate my older home to be more energy efficient, etc. until I’m blue in the face and maybe I can pay myself on the back. But it won’t change anything.

Because the biggest issues are corporate polluters, the factory farm/fishing industries, and overseas factories. Inflation is hitting families hard and so I’m not surprised they turn to cheap overseas synthetic crap and mass produced foods. Let’s be real, living a green lifestyle can be expensive. Those local farm food deliveries are not cheap and are generally available in more expensive neighborhoods. A short commute is a luxury, I am not going to blame the blue collar workers fixing my plumbing who drive 40 miles to work because that is how far away they can afford to live.

This is a global problem and we need progressive leaders to solve this. I blame republican politicians and news channels that lie lie lie about global warming because they have deep pockets to protect by keeping the status quo going. Gotta think about the share holders.

+1. How much pollution would be gone if every store you went to stopped using plastic? Way more than anything that could be done by a single individual.

We enjoy to spend our weekends and vacations at nudist resorts locally and abroad. We enjoy our hot tub, pool, sailboat, Winnebago motor coach and Jeep Wrangler. We enjoy to share these “toys” with our friends.

The best part of this is we’re your neighbors, and you’d never know us to be any different than your coworkers or smiling faces in the grocery store. We are professionals with high level careers, we don’t flaunt our lifestyle choices or push our opinions on anyone. We put on our underwear (when we choose to wear some) one leg at a time. We pay our taxes and treat others with respect.

And we let our boys pierce their ears. Multiple times.
