I guess this is the point many of us are making. She dresses like a DCUM lawyer mom, but SLOTUS is a different role where your job is to represent the country.
Meh. I can’t tell you a single thing Doug Emhoff or Karen Pence wore. And I can’t recall a single time they played an important role in representing the country.
I can't either and that's because they just looked fine. They were groomed and brushed their hair and wore appropriate outfits so I never took notice. Usha is so bad you can't help but notice.
Oh, come on. You are majorly exaggerating and sound ridiculous.
It's because she's relatively young and has a fab figure. It should be sooo easy to look good with what she's dealing with and with her resources, but she somehow manages to look crappier than half the moms heading into the office from the school drop-off line. It's kind of a feat? Like, "I'm at least at the Karen Pence level!" Is a pretty low bar for someone with herr natural good looks and a good 25+ year age advantage.
Can someone explain what’s so great about Usha’s figure? She’s thin and not particularly shapely. What am I missing? Is thin enough to qualify as “fab?” And to be sure, I think complaints about her bad fashion are exaggerated but so is praise about her figure.
She's thin, fit, and relatively petite. All the things I am not, lol. What do you mean by "particularly shapely"? She doesn't have (or need) breast implants. She looks good.

I feel like there is a lot to unpack here. I do like the red lipstick.
It was posted on the Usha thread that got locked. Been there. Done that. Horrible outfit/pose.

I mean, the tell is that you always compare her to Karen Pence and Jill Biden. She's not even 40 and you're like "Wellllll she dresses better than these geriatric retired teachers!!!!"
I guess you don't realize you're talking to several different posters? I didn't make the post about Doug Emhoff/Karen Post/Jill Biden. I would use "DP," but that's always been so confusing for you.
You've made multiple posts comparing Usha to Jill and Karen. We still remember your creepy AI thread that got deleted.

“I think we can all agree that Usha looking like a normal woman is much preferable than Usha looking like a Trump woman” relies on a couple of rhetorical moves.
It uses an appeal to false consensus with the phrase “I think we can all agree,” which suggests universal agreement where none has been demonstrated. This pressures the audience into accepting the statement as common sense or mainstream.
It also relies on loaded language, contrasting “normal woman” with “Trump woman” in a way that assigns positive value to one and negative value to the other, steering the audience without providing evidence.
Finally, it presents a false dichotomy by framing the choice as only between two possibilities, ignoring other options or more nuanced perspectives.
And yet I think we can all agree that the statement you've quoted makes perfect sense.

No. Princess of Jordan is very modern — doesn’t veil in Jordan, either.
Uh- yes, she does.
You must never have been to Jordan. While wearing a hijab has become far more common in recent years, plenty of women do not wear it, including the women in the royal family.

THANK YOU. So sick of this ridiculous insistence that Usha Vance must somehow look perfect every time she steps out - requirements that were *never* applied to other people in her position.
I don't think she needs to look perfect. But she looks pretty bad most of the time.
Huh. I totally disagree. I think she looks very nice. I don't think I've ever seen her look "pretty bad". Maybe the beige dress and sandals at the RNC, but that's about it.
NP. Disagree. If she just wore concealer it would be a massive improvement. She could look really great, but her hair and undereye circles are really dragging the entire look. I don't even have anything again gray hair, but if you want to keep your hair gray, it's more effort because gray is wiry hair.
As a very pale white woman, I know all about undereye circles. We just use concealer and go on with our day. I need a lot more work than Usha to look good. My eyelashes and brows are blonde and I look completely washed out without makeup. People actually will do a double take if I'm not wearing makeup because I look like an alien (or maybe half albino).
South Asians who have those bags can’t just use concealer and go about their day.
100% they are near impossible to cover.
