No you don't, there's a train station to Los Angeles with a regular schedule. I know as we stayed at the Casa 425 Hotel and used it to travel to Downtown LA. And the city of Claremont is absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite college towns I have been to.

We have fully funded 529s and are encouraging our two teens to get out of here after high school. D1 wants to go to Vanderbilt in Nashville, D2 wants to go somewhere in California, possibly Pepperdine in Malibu.
Why would a Michigan resident be commentating on DCUM? That’s really weird.
Because my husband works in Washington and we lived in Bethesda for nearly ten years.

President’s children are extremely privileged. They are trust fund babies with enough real and social currency to never have to hear no from any college or corporation. Admissions, internships, jobs, tv shows, celebrity friends, book deals or whatever they are interested in can be theirs.
Well, almost everything as none attends schools like MIT, CalTech, Hopkins nor goes into comp sci, engineering, applied maths, neuroscience, architecture, , orthopedics, astronautics etc. where you actually have to be competent to survive.
STEM fields aren’t the preferred path for kids of rich and powerful, they take scenic routes. They don’t need to earn a living or prove themselves. They already made it with genetic lottery.

I love to visit.
Good for your DC. Pomona and Michigan are apples and oranges. Get it if you said NESCACs. And perhaps those are the "other cold schools." DH did tell one of our DCs that he didn't really care about Pomona's ranking. DH said he had never heard of it and probably would not look at a resume from there.

Where’s your husband from, somewhere in the Midwest? He go to someplace like Wisconsin?
