Has SYC released their prices for 2019/2020 yet? From the Town Hall it sounded like they were going to increase but I still haven't seen anything come out.

Gotta pay for those new coaches and the old ones with fake UEFA A licenses.

Who is this referencing? As in, who is lying about their license?

Harry Opoku. The club knows it's fake and still touts it.

Used the word destination as it has been used throughout the forum to describe clubs that offer DA/ECNL competition. Those teams tend to have players travelling from longer distances to play on those teams.

So, for boys we’re talking about DC United and VDA (?!?) in Virginia? Not so much. U16-U18 gotta play somewhere, and the CCL teams are at least as good as the Boys ECNL teams.

There are so many in the area. The local club is SCAA (Practice at South County Middle School). Just to name a few:

BRYC
LMVSC
Doradus (old barca club)
Team America
PWSI (Commute is terrible but I know some parents that do it)
Gunston
ST James (new this year)

Those are off the cuff. Not ranking or saying is one is better than the other. The Map that the FPYCParent poster has might help as well.

Pricing is going to be relatively the same for all. Some will be paid up front, others club registration followed by participation fee in leagues/tournaments.

I dont think LMV will close either but I can see the quality of play start to slide if SYC is taking the more talented players. SYC strategically placed coaches that LMV players would desire at the right age groups. The proximity is relatively nil so the fight is on.

Both clubs will continue and work through the changes. One may recover quicker but neither will be the destination club in the area and just be solid mid-level clubs.

And a partnership Joga/SMI will also cost. Those trips aren't free.

That was my thinking. Seems like they have upped the coach count (although I could never get a good read on how many coaches they had before so I could be wrong) and there are still some teams with TBD coaches, so it seems that they will need to hire at least one or two more. And then when you throw in Joga/SMI...

Basically a partnership with an all inclusive soccer travel agency. Don't get me wrong, Keph has done a good job of placing some talent overseas and will continue to do so. Good opportunity for SMI to get some exposure. The fact that they are trying to say that it's only for SYC players is a joke. If a family of a talented player reaches out to Keph I'm sure he won't say No just because the kid is not at SYC. Many U.S. teams go overseas and compete, it's a great experience for kids but it's not like only SMI can do this. Every club in the area has a couple of coaches with overseas connections. At this point it's probably a marketing ploy for parents to look past the Este and friends take over at SYC. Oh but Keph would also qualify as part of the "and friends" crew. If SMI was smart they should form more partnerships with surrounding clubs.
