Btw...the leagues go Elite, AAA, AA, A, B.... So beating up on neighborhood programs, as well as the big boys B teams makes you much closer to mediocre than Elite. I'm sure VLC brass strives to do better and believes they were better in the past.

HoCo doesn't have any "neighborhood programs", idiot.

Actually, outside of a very small number of teams I would classify all of the teams as being neighborhood based. The clubs have a practice field(s) and those kids come from about a 10 mile radius. Now if you think that's too large for a neighborhood definition then okay.

By that logic every team in HoCo is a "neighborhood team".

Glad you can read and agree with the point except for a few upper tier teams who used to attract families from outside their main practice area like the Crabs, Hawks and Madlax. Outside of programs like these, VLC and the others are neighborhood based and their play depends on how good the coaching is and how often they practice. Hawks are serious and they practice year round. I'm guessing VLC doesn't.

There is more to the sport than the HOCO league. The ‘23 team played in the summer and beat elite level teams and played other top teams to close games. As this team is now in HS the players will get lots of chances to showcase talent and get better for HS lax.

That might explain 23's but none of the others. Anything AA or below is just a chance for your kids to get some exercise. The level of play is really bad at all ages.

Get over yourself - the Hoco league has lots of good teams. There's plenty of work to be done in Elite - poor lax IQ, big kids who can't throw and catch and worse, coaches who constantly direct each player on ball, heaven forbid a kid has a free thought while playing.

Agreed. If a team isnt in the top 2 tiers, play rec and have your kid do more clinics.

Nobody wants VLC in Elite because it's a WASTE OF TIME playing them. They don't field strong teams and the reason's why can be debated here over and over.

I'm sorry your kid got cut from VLC, but it is actually possible to come back from that. Have him hit the wall in the spring, and try out again in August.

Truth hurts, I know - but if believing that is what keeps you shelling out your money and driving the family across that bridge for routine @ss kickings then be my guest....LOL.
