Don't be so sure. Laws vary by state but a quick Google search pulled up this case.

In Pennsylvania, a parent received a prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter after several teenagers died in a drunk-driving accident following a party hosted by the parent. Although the parent didn’t supply the alcohol, the parent knowingly allowed the teenagers to drink alcohol at the party. PP, this is bull. The driver had been cited along with one of the dead kids for alcohol. It is a tragedy but one the parents should have been clued into as a possibility for a while now. It's not a total surprise that they ended up drunk driving and dead.
