So during the height of tourist season they're not letting people enjoy the mall. Nuts.

How are they going to keep people away on the 4th? Mall is usually packed.

The only people welcome are MAGA who want to attend Trump's rally. It's reserved for them. And the audience for the fireworks show is the records book, not actual people.

It's just infuriating our public traditions and spaces are being taken away.

Stop vandalizing them because you don’t like who’s president.

Like the guy who drove his motorcade over it?

If it really is just very scummy and attracts a lot of mosquitoes, then why bother especially with climate change. Turn it into something else. Not worth the money and trouble. Make it a monument to the Constitution and include a large replica of the Bill of Rights (everything this administration is against).

It was fine before. It was absurd that Trump made a huge deal out of it.

It wasn't fine. It has always leaked massively and can't be filtered and cleaned nearly enough due to its stagnant nature, which is the whole idea behind the design as a mirror. It's the concept that's unworkable in practice. You want running water, otherwise of course it's going to be gross.

This basin should just be scrapped and turned into something else. It's been costing the taxpayer way too much money over the years.

But I agree that Trump directed a giant spotlight on the problem. That's hilarious!

This is true. Needs to be agitated, i.e. running and circulating

Maybe it could be circulated at night?

White-Trash Jamboree! Pass the Twinkies!

Snake-handling on the left, bathtub baptisms on the right. Our food stalls lost power, so the ice cream all melting. But no lines, no waiting!

But remember, Republicans are all about "freedom!" They just looovvve freedom!

Nothing says "freedom" like miles and miles of fencing and security checkpoints, military humvees and trucks, armed National Guard and police from a dozen agencies in tactical gear.
