OT: I have a very hard time believing that someone named Jesus did not walk the face the earth and preach. Also have a very hard time believing that everything on earth just came about without any supernatural guidance. Is the one god? Is Jesus the son of God? Nobody can 100% answer that, but some force had to be at work.

Jesus was made up -- not of whole cloth, because a messiah was predicted. But those were the olden days, before modern science and running water and a bunch of stuff that we now take for granted.
Kids can't imagine life without the internet. Neither can I! Remember those old movies where people would wait impatiently for the mailman to come?
No he was not made up. His existence and the words he spoke have been proven. What is likely made up is that he was the son of God. Probably not. Then again, how did such an extraordinary person come to have such extraordinary advice on how to be a good person?
In any event he was an amazing man and if we all followed his teachings the world would be a better place.
is he really any more extraordinary than Confucius or Gautam Buddh, Socrates, plato etc..?? I dont really think so- the same sort of beliefs pop up in many cultures around the world. he just lived in relatively recent times but not too recent like Muhammad/Baba Nanak. what I find remarkable is that one hand he is supposed to be a Jewish messiah but his message is SO Radically different- its universal, its kind and just based on character versus race, God is loving and generous and that is antithetical to the harsh cultures, both Roman and Jewish, that he preached in and that gave rise to the global force that is Christianity.
FFS. Read the thread BEFORE making inane posts.
