There were 9 or 10 OKM girls (max) wearing tech suits or kneeskins. Each either broke a team record or was just shy of a team record. 2 9-10 girls, 2 11-12 girls, 3 13-14 girls, and 2 15-18 girls. (I can’t tell the difference in the guys’ suits, but it is doubtful that any of the guys wore tech suits.)

And the swimmers swam amazing setting 12 or 13 records! I will say that Tuckahoe was a wonderful host.
The officials, parents, volunteers, and swimmers were very kind. Tuckahoe hate runs deep on DCUM threads. The reality was a lot different than described in these chats.
Agreed. Tuckahoe was welcoming, their swimmers were competitive but not cruel, the facility was nice, and there were many really close and really fast races. We are thankful that Tuckahoe hosted us. OKM does permit tech suits and/or 12&U kneeskins if the swimmer is milliseconds from breaking a team record.

At the end of the day you are trying to win the meet. The coach is trying to score the points and reduce points received for the other team. It’s not always going to be the three fastest in each event from your team. That wouldn’t make sense in a close, competitive meet.
Exactly. This is how it’s supposed to work.
But the PP implied someone other than the coach is making these decisions. Who is that? I’m a team rep for a D1-3 team and it’s definitely the coaching staff seeding the meet to win. The reps just check for errors but have zero say in who swims what or if at all (as it should be).

I just wish they did away with “ a” meets. Wish we had more teams and smaller teams . One meet a week . That is how we used to do it . It felt more like a team environment.

people make up conspiracy theories just because their kids are slow.
My kids are some of the fastest in their respective age and gender categories in the NVSL. I can tell you this happens at teams, I have physically seen it, seen the email correspondence, and the coach has confirmed he doesn’t have the final say.
So some teams let the coach choose and some let parents who could never possibly be completely objective help with the process.
